The SJAA aims to promote good relationships between home and the academy through a range of social and educational activities. The academy values and enjoys good relationships with parents and it is from this partnership that our common goals can be achieved in providing the best possible education for the pupils here.

The committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting held in the Autumn Term. The Association is keen to develop an active programme of events throughout the year and appreciates the ideas, suggestions and support that it receives.

The SJAA in an invaluable part of our Academy and provides fundraising to the school as well as community social events that benefit the children. Recently the SJAA have fundraised to provide 20 IPADs on a secure trolley and for exciting new playground markings and fitness trails.  Social events have included our discos, film nights, Christmas and Summer Fayres.

The Scholastic book fair run by the SJAA at our Autumn consultations raised over £300 towards books for the Academy

The current committee are a hardworking, friendly and enthusiastic group of parents and staff who have some lovely ideas for future events. However, we really need more people to run the SJAA. At the end of this term a number of these committee members will be stepping down as their children progress to secondary school. We really need new members to either join the committee or volunteer to support at events in order for it to continue to provide the regular opportunities for the children that it does.

If you are interested in making a valuable contribution to your child’s school, please contact the academy or Mrs Chamberlain for further details.
