History and Geography

History and Geography are taught as discrete subjects on a half termly rotation. This enables the knowledge and skills relevant to each subject area to be developed. Children learn how to read, write and explain their understanding as Historians or Geographers.
Emphasis is placed on children’s own research, use of Primary and secondary evidence sources including artefacts, discussion and role play.

Skills and progressions are tracked and built upon as they progress through Key Stage Two.
How History and Geography and the development of historical and geographical skills are developed can be seen in our curriculum overviews.
