The School Day
At Sawtry Junior Academy we provide the expected 32.5 hours of teaching time per week. The academy gates open at 8.30a.m and the classes are met by teachers at *:35am. Pupils and parents / carers should not be onsite earlier than 8.30am. Register is taken at 8:45am and children arriving after this time need to come through the main office. Lessons then begin at 8.45a.m. If the weather is particularly cold or wet and the children are at school earlier then they will be allowed to come straight indoors.
To ensure children’s safety we require an email or telephone call from parents/carers before we will permit children to leave the premises during the day, e.g. visit to the doctor or dentist. They also will need to be collected by a responsible adult, parent or carer.
The times of the school day are as follows:
8.30 a.m. | Gates open and children can access the playground. Teachers will take lines in at 8:35am after this children will need to go to classroom doors. After 8:45am children need to come into school through the front office |
