Special Educational Needs

Our SENDCo is Mrs Cruise and can be contacted through senco@sawtryjunior.org, supported by the Meridian Primary SEND team. They work with families, all staff, academy councillors and pupils to ensure that all pupils with special educational needs and disabilities have their needs met. Mrs Cruise is also supported in her role by the Meridian executive director of SEND, Mary Abeyasekera. This ensures that our provision is of the highest quality and reflects current best practice.

We identify and offer specific support for all of our SEND children at the level which helps them to make progress from their starting points. We use a variety of teaching styles and differentiation, to ensure that all children can access learning in the classroom.

Where children have individual plans, which are delivered in a way to ensure they understand the relevance and purpose of learning activities and experience levels of progress that bring feelings of success and achievement.

Our Academy offer is our SEND information report. It provides parents with full details of all of the services and support available at Sawtry Junior Academy to meet the needs of our pupils with SEND. The document can be viewed below.
